Dear Mr. McElroy:-

I duly received your two favors of the 2nd and 4th instants. I telegraphed you yesterday that Holroyd was better. Today the doctor telephoned me that he was doing nicely, and that he had virtually passed through the crisis.

I return you Mr. W. A. Coffin's letter. I have communicated with him. He was not aware that Mr. Frick was in Europe, and he says he will await his return to ask him the privilege of seeing his paintings.
