M.B.82. NUDE YOUTH. Francesco de Sant'Agata. Full-length standing figure of a youth with short curly hair: his arms raised above his head which is turned to his right, as he gazes upward with parted pils. The constrained attitude of the body and position of the arms make it probably that this figure was the model for a St. Sebastian, nd that the hands were intended to b fastened to a column ot to the sea of a tree. The boxwood model for this figure is in the Kaiser Friedrich Museum at Berlin. Pfungst Collection. Plate LI. H. 9-7/8 inches. Fine. 20,000

M.B.88. YOUTH DRAWING A THORN FROM IS FOOT. Paduan. Beginning of XVI century. Plate LV. He is seated on the trunk of a tree, his left leg laid across the right knee with the sole of the foot turned outwards. His body is bent almost double as he looks down at the foot and draws out the thorn with his right hand. Beside him on the triangular base is set a small high vase to contain ink. Very similar to No. 86 founded like the two preceding examples on the "Spinario" in the Capitoline Museum,Rome. Pfungst Collection. H. 6-5/8 inches. Plate LV. OK. 7,500

M.B.95. EQUESTRIAN FIGURE OF A WARRIOR. Paduan. Beginning of the XVI century. Closely approaching Riccio. The horse hogmaned and of heavy build, pacing forward. The rider of small proportions, clad in armor and with uncovered head, is seated barebacked holding the reins in his left hand: his legs bare and pressed against the horses flanks. His head is bent forward, his right arm raised as if about to strike a blow. Plate LXII. H. 14-1/4" L. 9-9/16". Gavet, Heckscher and Stein Coll'n. 327,500.
