At her death in 1689 her library was purchased by Pope Alexander VI, and her collection of 47 paintings by Cardinal Deccio Azzolini. From his nephew they were bought by Don Livio Odeschalchi, Duke of Bracciano, and by his heirs sold to Phillip the Regent, Duke of Orleans. His magnificent collection, which hung in the Galleries of the Palais Royal at Paris, was formed at the beginning of the 18th Century. He had bought besides the collection of Christina of Sweden, those of Cardinal Richelieu, Mazarin and Dubois, as well as others of great importance which he bought in whole or in part. Before his death in 1723 he had in his galleries some four hundred odd paintings of all schools, and was considered one of the finest collections [end page 4 of 9]
