good links within five minutes walk of the Hotel — the country is very picturesque. I understand there are charming excursions to be made. My wife is delighted —Very nice people at this Hotel many of which I know. We have not as yet full particulars on the attempt on Jack Morgan's life — we will not get the papers until tomorrow morning. Chauncey Depew says a telegram informed him the wounds were not serious which I hope is true — Depew is to lecture this evening on the 4th.
