COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE March 4, 1918.

Mr. H.C. Frick, Fifth Avenue & 70th Street, New York City.

Dear Mr. Frick, It is the practice in teaching the theory of Architecture at Columbia University to show the students the best possible examples of art produced in America and different monuments are chosen for this purpose. The last one we had the privilege of seeing was the Morgan library. We have long wished to see the interior of your beautiful house and at the suggestion of Mr. Hastings to whom we applied for information we are writing you of not over twenty or twenty-five men who will all be properly vouched for and accompanied by Mr. Hastings ad myself. If we are granted this favor we could come any day between the hours three and five. I realize that I am making an unusual request but I am doing this for the advancement of art in America. Since you may not recognized my name I will say that I have been the Treasurer of the American Academy in Rome for many years. Your very truly, William A. Boring
