               Holbein's picture of Sir Thomas More, which has been exhibited

in the Museum for nearly five months through the great kindness of its owner, Mr Edward Huth, is going away on Monday next. To many persons the combination of great artist and great sitter makes this the most precious portrait of an Englishman in existence. It is indeed so noble and lifelike that it is not surprising that visitors often uncover their heads, as though in the actual presence of the keen-eyed Chancellor who suffered death for his principles. If any of our readers have not seen this picture, we recommend them to go to the Fitzwilliam (now open till 6) before it is too late. [end of document]
