My dear Mr. Frick,
I am pleased to inform you that the four large Oriental vases have arrived from Europe, and perhaps you will do me the pleasure of calling to see them, at your convenience.
As regards the Raeburn about which I spoke to you, it was sold at Christie's yesterday, and our firm bought it. I herewith enclose you a photograph. I understand from our people in London that the picture is very dirty, and that the lady is much better looking than as depicted in this photograph.
At the same time, I fear it is not good enough for you, but in any event it is of course at your disposal, if you so wish.
