Dear Mr. Chubb: Send Dr. C. F. L. de Wild, 753 Fifth Avenue, check for forty-nine hundred and fifty ($4,950.00) dollars, making the voucher read as follows: "For expert opinion on the 'Portrait of the Countess of Clanbrisil [sic.]' by Anthony Van Dyck, purchased from Lewis & Simmons for one hundred and sixty-five thousand ($165,000.00) dollars. This is in full for all I owe him to date."
