Dear Sir,
Dear Sir,

By request of Mr. J.W. Beatty & the order of Mr. R. F. Knoedler we send today to the Carnegie Art Gallery a painting by Mauve, offering it to them at seventy five hundred dollars. If the C. A. Gy. should not want to buy it, Mr. Knoedler wishes you to consider it for your own Collection; otherwise the price of this picture will be considerably higher and we shall be obliged for an early decision, if just as agreeable to yourself.
