Mr. H. C. Frick, Pittsburgh.
Dear Sir:
The picture by Dagnan-Bouveret, entitled "Les Disciples d'Emmaus," has been received and is found to be in good condition, as is also the frame. It was to-day cleared by the customs officer and is now in possession of the Carnegie Institute, the only remaining formality to be performed being the signing of a bond, under a recent decision of the Treasury Department in favor of the Institute. The bond will be signed by Mr. Frew, as President of the Boardof SIC , upon his return to Pittsburgh.
Very sincerely,
John W. Beatty, Director.
