Unhappily I do not know people in official life in New York. I knew Mr. Carnegie and the late Mr. Fletcher on your Avenue at 79th and could secure a note from the latter's son if now in America, if it would answer. In Boston I could refer you to Mr. J. Randolph Coolidge of Beacon St. If any of these names suit, I will at once [[apply?]] for the desired note.
