and presume you are glad to be home. We miss you here + look back upon your visit with pleasure I see Steel keeps forging ahead + hope you will let me know when the time comes to sell. We look like having good times next Winter – The money for the Gainsborough had been useful – + we thank you for the prompt payment. We have about settles the Van Dyck Snyders with Carlisle + have virtually bought it payable in Jany with interest – It must be copied and framed + I trust will be ready to send with Mrs Snyders if the duty is removed so that you can view them together + make your mind up at your leisure. I was as surprised to hear of your getting the Turner as I was over the result of the Holbein – The Turner is now hanging in my dining room, + looks superb. I had to send it from here as I couldn't get any additional insurance. You told me to ask you about Ziem With kind regards.

I see Steel keeps forging ahead & hope you will let me know when the time comes to sell. We look like having good times next Winter – The money for the Gainsborough has been useful & we thank you for the prompt payment.

We have about settled the Van Dyck Snyders with Carlisle & have virtually bought it payable in Jany with interest – It must be copied and framed & I trust will be ready to send with Mrs Snyders if the duty is removed so that you can view them together & make your mind up at your leisure. I was as surprised to hear of your getting the Turner as I was over the result of the Holbein – The Turner is now hanging in my dining room & looks superb. I had to send it from here as I couldn't get any additional insurance. You told me to ask you about Ziem. With kind regards. Sincerely; Charlie Carstairs [end page 2 of 2]
