My dear Charlie: The profit to the credit of our joint account is not so large as I hoped for; but, unfortunately I had bad advice. But it gives me much pleasure to enclose herewith check for $10,160.00. We will do better next time.

Grier spent Saturday and Sunday with me. We only played Sunday. I won by five up and three to play. Mutual friend suggested Grier not well and it is borne out by the fact that on his return to New York he was confined to his room the next day. It is however, I believe, an established fact that no well man was ever beaten.

We have the model of the house here and it seems to receive unstinted praise.

Hastings will soon be with you and will give you all the particulars.

Received the cable regarding the Velasquez.

With kind regards,

Sincerely yours, [Henry Clay Frick]
