DUVEEN BROTHERS 302 Fifth Avenue.

New York, October 14, 1909. SOLD TO H. C. Frick, Esq - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A portrait of Lady Elizabeth Taylor by Sir Joshua Reynolds, P.R.A., from the Maurice Kann Collection.

Exhibited:-Boston Museum of Fine Arts - 1910.

Mentioned in Leske? + Taylor's Life of Reynolds ii 203, as sitting in 1779 ? Lady Taylor is mentioned among the sitters in Nov. 1781 (ii. 343) + in Jany. 1782 (ii. 387) + in Dec. 1784 (ii. 468) The last date is probably the correct one, since Sir John Taylor is among the list of sitters for Nov. 2 in this year, + the portraits were paid for in Jany. 4, 1786.
