M. KNOEDLER & CO. SUCCESSORS TO GROUPIL & CO. 355 FIFTH AVENUE. NEW YORK. Cable Address Knoedler-New York Knoedler-Paris Paris Office, 2 Rue Gluck. March 22nd, 1890. Mr. H. C. Frick. Pittsburg, Pa. Dear Mr. Frick:- Your two favors of the 21st inst., are at hand. Mr. Knox who telegraphed me yesterday that he would prefer to begin sittings to-morrow instead of to-day, called with me on Chartran this morning, and it is understood that the portrait will be begun to-tomorrow morning, and as Mr. Knox is to remain until next Tuesday evening, there will be plenty of time for Chartran to produce a masterpiece. Glad to hear that you have Swan bronze at last out of the Custome House. I wrote by this morning mail to the Paris office, to have your Thaulow shipped at the close of the exhibition. If by chance, you are not entirely satisfied with any Thaulow you got from us, do not hesitate to return it to us. We are short of this artist's works, and will be pleased to credit you with price paid. There has been nothing of importance that I know of that has occurred lately, otherwise I suppose Charlies would have informed you. Are you coming to New York shortly? With kind regards, believe me. Very truly yours, Roland F. Knoedler
