COPY IN LETTER BOOK Prides Crossing, Mass., September 6, 1915.


Messrs Duveen Brothers, 720 Fifth Avenue, New York.


Gentlemen: I fully intend to settle the account due you by turning over to you the stock on the terms mentioned in your favor of July 29th, when in your city tomorrow, but it looks now as if I would be in position to pay you the cash between now and the first of December, or by the time your Mr. Joseph Duveen returns from abroad. I assume that you are not particularly in need of the stock nor the money before that time. Should I, however, not be in position to pay you the cash on or about that date, I will turn over the stock as per our understanding, which was fully set forth in your favor of July 29th. Should any dividends, etc. accrue to the stock in the meantime, you would be entitled to them. Wishing your Mr. Joseph Duveen a very delightful trip and a safe return, I am, Yours sincerely,
