Henry Clay Frick Esq. Prides Crossing, Mass.
Dear Mr. Frick, Herewith I am returning Miss Evans' letter and catalog. I have gone over all the photographs and their story is soon told. With the exception of one or two genuine, but mediocre things, the whole collection consists of school pictures and copies, some of them of rather recent date. The Hals's are all modern, not copies from existing pictures, but deliberate fakes.
Very sincerely Yours C. F. L. de Wild
