JD-A

Dear Mrs. Frick, I have just returned to the office to find the telephone message from your house and hasten to say that I have communicated once or twice with Mr. Ledyard since your letter and am pleased to inform you that there is every probability of our getting the FRAGONARD ROOM by Wednesday, but surely by Thursday of next week. It seems such a pity that we were not able to receive it in time to be ready for Mr. Frick's arrival, but apparently this was quite impossible.

In reply to your message about the Porcelains, I have been busy the best part of the day getting a part of the china properly washed and put in order in readiness to bring up to your house. Some of the pieces are ready and I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you on Monday morning with them. I feel sure you are going to be agreeably surprised at their beauty. Most of the pieces were in an awful condition, not having been washed I should imagine for quite fifteen years.

I beg to remain, Yours very truly, [Signature] Joseph Duveen

Mrs. H. C. Frick, Fifth Avenue, 70th and 71st Street, New York City.
