Dear Mr. Frick,

Now that you are far away from home, & that you cannot tell what might happen. I take great pleasure & satisfaction to enclose herewith my check for $400 (four hundred dollars) equivalent of the two one thousand francs notes you were so kind to let me have at Aix.

Hoping this delay will not inconvenience you particularly & will not lower me in your "rating" & that you are all well and are having an enjoyable stay south & with kindest remembrances to you all, believe
