For all the work I did for him during the last four or fives years I have received no recompense I could of course have paid myself handsomely out of the commissions which were priced? when we ? my ? and principles made this impossible. I know that I have incurred the ? of some of his sales by this refusal to become ? tools. Indeed such is the corruption of this business that I have for ? ? for ? honest?. This is not by way of complaint but of explanation I have acquired by now a wide knowledge of the market in objet d'art as well as pictures. You know that I admire the tact and understanding you have shown in yr. buying of pictures and I should like to ? such ?, ? as I have at yr. service, either in buying pictures or objets d'art.
