LETTERHEAD M. KNOEDLER & CO., SUCCESSORS TO GOUPIL & CO., 355 FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK. CABLE ADDRESSES. KNOEDLER _ NEW YORK. KNOEDLER _ PARIS. PARIS OFFICE, 2 RUE GLÜCK. /LETTERHEAD to the right under an alley of trees and the trunks in the sunlight. In the first plan on the left at the foot of the slope is a pond where three cows are coming to drink, and in which the part of the second plan is reflected. On the right is a large oak tree, of very knotty bark with twisted branches. All are struck by the rays of the sun. The ground in the forest is of a reddish tint, with a few gray rocks scattered about on the right.

Perhaps you may have the catalog of the Secretan, and you could judge for yourself more satisfactory about the composition of the picture. It is page 70 No. 69, under title of "La ferme sous Bois." Of course the reproduction will give no idea of the very rich coloring and the original is considerably lighter and much more atmospheric. It would certainly make a very worthy addition to your collection.

With kind regards believe me,

Very sincerely yours,

SIGNED Chas. L. Knoedler.
