A large important picture from the same time, (about 1650) a View of Dordrecht, seen from the northern bank of the Maas, (it passed into American private possession a short time ago,) vies in the poetic nothing[?] mood with a delicate Claude, but the colouring is still rather too light and thin, the treatment has not yet the vigour of the later masterpieces. symbol in green ink: Ŧ
