Only daughter of Anthony Duncombe, Baron Feversham by his second wife Frances, who was a daughter of Peter Bathhurst of Clarendon Park, Lirlts?. - Frances was born on November 12th, 1757, and married in or about the year 1778, John, the eldest son of Edward Bowater. From the fact that her marriage settlement was executed (30-31 July, 1778) after their marriage, it seems probably that their wedding was clandestine: (see "Miscellanea Genealogica et Heraldica" new series ii, 177.) The marriage must have been an unhappy one for a letter (dated Nov. 5th, 1806) has been preserved, from Mr. Bowater to the second Earl of Radnor, which shows
