£3000 for it. I do strongly urge you to get both. The Tintoretto is very exceptional and has a quality of colour which almost anticipates Velasquez with a rugged force of character drawing which shows how great Tintoretto was at moments. Of course I think him a greater portrait painter than Van Dyck though very unequal, but this particular Van Dyck is altogether splendid in colour and handling. It comes from
