Paris, 26 August 1898.

My dear Mr. Frick,

Your letter announcing the sailing for Europe of the Byers family came duly to hand yesterday. Thank you for your kind thought for us and interest in our affairs. I was delighted to hear of it as I have often thought it would be an immense amount of pleasure for him to see such collections as Chauchard's, Thierry's etc where such high quality pictures are to be found & I think he will be better pleased with some of his own. I cabled you asking you to ascertain his banker and cable us. I trust this has not put you to any trouble. I would not want to miss him.

You will be glad to learn that we have been doing some business since you [left].

Have sold in addition to a number of inexpensive pictures the Kums Millet Segond Corot (The 2 pictures you saw at Le Roy's), Donatis Corot (you saw at Obachs) & the Troyon "Going to Market"
