Aug. 14th 96

Dear Mr. Forbes,

Mr. Frick who is called back to the States and has to leave by tomorrow's boat has asked to be allowed a little time to consider his decision about the Rousseau and the Israels. We have therefore taken upon ourselves to accord him the time he asks for and it is arranged between us that he shall cable his decision upon arrival at New York.

In the meantime it is naturally understood that the
