36 ROMNEY, GEORGE 1734-1802 MISS HARFORD — Half-length in oval, full face. Dressed in a low neck white muslin gown with brown scarf about the neck and over her shoulders. Wears a pearl necklace. On her head is a cap of white material.

Frances Mary, daughter of Frederick Calvert, Lord Baltimore, married July 21, 1784, as his first wife, the Hon. Frederick William Wyndham, youngest son of the 2nd Earl of Egremont, died before 1828. This lady's oldest son became 4th Earl of Egremont in November, 1837.

Miss Harford sat for this portrait between the years of 1780 and 1783. (See Humphry Ward's Work on Romney, Volume 2, page 71.)

37 ROMNEY, GEORGE 1734-1802 MARY FINCH HATTON — Half-length, nearly full face, dressed in a white muslin gown edged with blue. Her powdered hair is arranged in many curls, while some of it falls down her back.

Hall, near Cambridge, and wife of Hale Wortham, Esq., of Royston, Carmbridgeshire.

38 ROUSSEAU, PIERRE ETIENNE THEODORE 1812-1867 THE VILLAGE OF BECQUIGNY — A village road in the centre, thatched roofed houses to the right and left, horse and rider approaching, woman and child resting under tree to right of road, close by figure of a man with bundle of faggots, evening sky.
