This very interesting and important panel, formerly the property of the late Charles Bodenham, of Rotherwas, Herefore, and lately sold in a London auction room, has (after the removal of a very discoloured varnish and a late eighteenth century inscription on the sleeve stating it to be the portrait of Margaret Tudor, Queen of Scotland been recognized by many authorities as a work of Hans Holbein the younger.
