(Venetian School). 1489-1576, A Sixteenth Century Italian Portrait of a Venetian Gentleman. Behind a stone parapet, upon which rests a book, is seen the bust of a man turned partly towards the left, and dressed in the style of the Venetian nobles of the XVI. century; the hair is long and reaches to the shoulders. The background is formed of a grey-green wall, with an opening through which is seen the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, Venice. Exhibited at the Burlington Fine Arts Club, 1905, No. 41.
