25830. A FIFTEENTH CENTURY ITALIAN BRONZE STATUETTE. "David with the head of Goliath." by BARTOLOMEO BELLANO (1430-1498). David is represented standing on the severed head of Goliath, holding a sword in his right hand, the point of which rests upon the matted locks of the dead Philistine; his left arm rests upon his hip and over his right shoulder are hung a sling and a bag of stones, - a similar specimen is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, but slightly damaged, having the word broken away at the hilt.

25832. AN ORIGINAL SMALL BRONZE GROUP. By Andrea Riccio. (1470-1532) representing a female Satyr seated, cross-legged on a tree stump, holding a cornucopia in her right hand and with an infant Satyr at her right knee holding a bird in his left hand. A similar statuette is in the Kaiser Frederich Museum at Berlin.

25833. AN OLD ITALIAN STATUETTE. Of "Man Carrying a Child." School of Dominico Poggini, middle of fifteenth century. Full length nude figure of a tall man of muscular build, with massive throat.His head and whole body are turned to the left, He strides forward with the left leg in advance and carries a child on his left shoulder, resting his right hand in which he holds a cloth, on his hip. The child lays his right hand upon the man's head and looks down confidingly. In his left hand he holds an apple; his upper arm is grasped by the left hand of the man. Height 9 1/2". From the Rita Lydig Coll'n, formerly in the Hainauer Coll'n, Berlin. A similar figure is in the Collection of the late Mr. J. Pierpont Morgan. (Catalogue of Dr. W. Bode 1291).
