Dear Mr. Frick, Thanks for your letter of the 3rd. I will write Mr. Jones + arrange to see the fond American generals. We have had to postpone our trip + now expect to sail Oct. 15th on the Rotterdam which is due to arrive the 24th. Lily didn't seem to want to be separated from her fiancé + is therefore to be married Oct 5th, he is an exceedingly nice young fellow + she seemed very happy. I note what you say about a Sargent for Mr Ledyard. I expect to see Sargent before sailing + may find something, don't know what he has been doing this Summer. Nothing very encouraging going on here.
