21 February 1911 -

M. KNOEDLER & CO., 355 FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK. PARIS, 23, PLACE VENDÔME. LONDON, 15 OLD BOND STREET. CABLE ADDRESSES KNOEDLER NEW YORK PARIS LONDON

Mch 15th 200,000 Apr 15th 275,000

Dear Mr Frick, I have had a long session with our partners in the Velasquez. They think (and not unjustly considering the realness + rarity of the work) that we should have $100,00 profit but have finally decided that if you will make it $475,000. cash (say by Mch fifteenth) - they will accept. Not knowing where to find you I am sending the picture to your house where it can remain until Thursday morning which will give you time to give it the benefit of your mature judgment - There is not a great difference + I trust you will appreciate that I have done all in my power in your behalf Always Sincerely Charlie Carstairs
