My dear Mr Frick, I received your letter this morning and am sending the Constable off tomorrow to go by the Lusitania next Saturday. I trust the delay will not annoy you, the purchase of the Turner and Constable has brought so many people in that it was a distinct benefit for me to have them for a time, and as it was to our interest, I was quite sure of your acquiescence - I also though there was a feasibility of your not taking the Constable in want of your buying the Romney and if such had been the case, I wanted to have it here rather than New York -- Mr Widener gave us $450,000.- and 52 pictures which cost him $250,000. for the 3 Van Dycks. He wanted me to take 50% in pictures but I told him
