COPY IN LETTER BOOK

Pride's Crossing , Massachusetts, July 3, 1908.

My dear Mr. Carstairs: I am just in receipt of your cable accepting my proposition for the Constable. Of course I well understand that you profit in this transaction is not much, but I did think that you paid a very high price for it. However, I have no doubt that you believed it to be worth it. Having two Turners, I did not think my collec- tion was in need of a third. I shall look forward with much pleasure to seeing the Constable.

With kind regards, Sincerely yours, To Mr. Charles S. Carstairs, 15 Old Bond Street London, England.
