9 Cambridge Universal Reporter. 3.10.10 The University is constantly receiving proofs of the kindness of its friends in many directions. It may perhaps seem invidious to select one such direction for mention when it is impossible to mention all. But it is a peculiar pleasure to me to recall how the Fitzwilliam Museum has benefited during the past year by gifts and loans which have charmed and delighted us all. Besides the King's loan of Holbein and other drawings, of which i have already spoken, we have been favoured by Mr Huth's loan of his superb portrait of Sir Thomas More, and by the Duke of Devonshire's loan of his famous Memling and other pictures, and we have received Mr Charrington's splendid gift of David Lucas's engravings. These are but examples of what Mr Cockerell had been enabled to show us.
