Enclosed excerpt, transcribed by Roberts

T. Gainsborough's "View in the Mall"

"The last work which closed the career of Mr. Frost's pursuits, was an excellent copy of Gainsborough's large View crossed out: in of the Mall in St. James's Park, underlined to end of sentence: of which he possessed the original. It was painted in the 77th year of his age, and must be considered as an extraordinary performance." Frost had a room filled with paintings by Gainsborough.

Memoir of George Frost of Ipswich, a follower of Gainsborough, underlined title: Gentleman's Magazine 1821, July, pp 89-90.

Signed: W. Roberts
