The size of both canvases is almost identical; identical in composition and colour; identical in details and accessories; and yet, what a different impression they make! An imperceptible change in the collocation of the head; an insignificant alteration in the line of the right arm, so artistically accentuated in the Parma picture, and other little variations that are only to be appreciated by a comparative study between both pictures, place in relief the superiority of the recently discovered portrait.
