9 DAUBIGNY, CHARLES FRANCOIS 1817-1878 LE VILLAGE DE GLOTON (OPPOSITE BONNIERES)

A river occupies foreground and distance. On the right bank a village, the houses of which on the edge of the river are clearly reflected. In the middle distance on the left a woman is seen ferrying several cows across, close by a man seated in a boat.

      Signed at the lower left, "Daubigny 1857."

Water in the foreground with shipping to the left, on the opposite side is the railway station of Dieppe, the Cathedral tower in the centre of the town beyond. On the other side of the town is more shipping seen.
