Copy Extract Letter from Mr. B. Berenson Dated February 20th, 1917.

" I have been devoting most of my attention for the last eight months or so to Titian. I have come to the conclusion that the Temple Newsam Portrait of a Young Man is by him. it has been exhibited and reproduced often and you will find it as Plate VIII in the "Burlington Fine Arts Club, 1915. Exhibition of Venetian Pictures, Titian and his Contemporary," To my own critical age the work has certain technical faults which made me hesitate, but I never questioned its immense fascination. Now that I am convinced that it is by the master I urge you to inquire whether it can be had,"
