July 18.11. My dear Mr Frick, Another portrait of great beauty, importance has turned up. I send you a small photograph. It comes Template:? from the Spinola family for whom Tintoretto painted it in 1551. It is the most dignified, also the most Titianesque of all Tintoretto's portraits, all is Template:Greys? blacks, warm golden flesh colors. It is a large picture 51x44 in. in splendid condition, has a force, vitality which make it one of the Template:? things of Italian portraiture. The price asked is 6000. It seems about to Lower right in pencil {HC.327.031} Template:End page
