Dear Mr. Thorne:

                             Please send a draft for sixty thousand (₤60,000) Pounds

to Deacons Williams Bank, London, in payment for the Holbein and the Titian, - two pictures purchased through Mrs. Creelman and her friend, Mrs. Lewis Hind of London. This is the amount they agreed to pay Sir Hugh Lane for the two pictures. One of the members of the bank I am told, is a personal friend and executor of Sir Hugh lane.

                             After remitting this draft, please send me the amount 

of it in dollars, so that I can pay Mrs. Creelman the commission of herself and friend; also send me a memorandum of your expenses in connection with the matter.
