Beginning of Page 3 "if you let me know the price I will cable out + probably get an answer soon"— I think this letter is non-committal + I also thinks it is better to hear their idea of the price of the one picture, + then if it suits you, you could make an offer for the other – But I expect their ideas of prices are very much in excess of conditions at the present time, in which case, please take my advice, + that is to stop buying underlined twice: any pictures till after the war, when in my opinion you will get a lot of them at your own price. I have no doubt in my own mind that the offer they have had, comes from some of our mutual friends, with the idea of selling it to you. Will you please cable me all receipt of this, Simply say, "Received letter," as the mails are so uncertain. + everything opened by the censor. Yours very sincerely A.A. P.S.
