My dear Sir
"This letter should reach you within the two wks and I write it rather than cable as being more satisfactory to me and enabling me to the more clearly explain myself. Mrs Watson and I both like the Breton and wish to possess it and after thinking it all over I am willing & offer to do this.

recollect $2.700. and will in addition pay you for the Jules Breton (The Gleaners) Twelve Thousand Dollars on or before December 1st 1895.
If you accept this offer you can ship to me so it will reach Pittsburgh say about the first of September.
If you do not accept it I wish you the best of luck with the picture.
Believe me Mrs Watson and myself keenly appreciate your kindness while we were in Paris."
Very truly yours
(Signed) D. T. Watson
