Beginning of Page 2 placed in the Palazzo Durazzo-Pallavicino at Genoa and thence transferred to Rome, as part of the dowry of a Lady of that Family married to a Roman Nobleman in the early part of the XVII Century, whence I brought it to England. Should you happen to meet the President of the Royal Society of British Artists, Mr. Alfred East, A.R.A., who is going to Chicago next Saturday, and who has seen and examined the Van Dyck, he is likely to give you a different opinion of this Masterpiece.
