METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART NEW YORK

May 2, 1907.

Henry C. Frick, Esq., 640 Fifth Avenue, New York.

Dear Mr. Frick: Taking advantage of your kind invitation, I spent some time among your pictures day before yesterday and was more than ever impressed by their high quality. The new Rembrandt is certainly superb,– one of the finest I have ever seen. As a first-rate example of his later style it would be most interesting to show with the splendid early Rembrandt which Mr. W. K. Vanderbilt has lent us for the season, and I therefore hope that when your decision is made it will prove to be favorable to us.

Signed: Very truly yours Edward Robinson
