coming from so courteous a gentleman as yourself I cannot help fearing that in some unknown way I have incurred yr. displeasure. I should be sorry to have done so as you know how much I admire your aims in collecting and how pleased I have been to give you any advice which you cared to have even though that advice has I know brought upon me some very natural resentment.

I should be very glad if you would be perfectly frank with me. I haven't the slightest desire to importune you with suggestions of purchases in which as you know I never have any personal interest.

Yrs. very truly
Roger E. Fry
