You will probably have read in the papers that a
great deal of trouble and anxiety has been caused in Berlin art
circles as a result of this collection leaving Germany, and it is
this particular piece, the loss of which they have been
regretting. However, we do not care. We prefer for several
reasons selling these to our own clients. This piece is
undoubtedly one to conjure with, and it is the most beautiful
thing I have ever seen. The halo is made of gilt metal. I
cannot adequately describe it to you or convey to you the
impression one gets as one stands in front of the actual object.
When I tell you that there is only one other known by this great
master which is in the Museum in Florence, and which is world
renowned, you will increasingly appreciate the importance of it.

Plate after page 64 (No. 11). This is a terra cotta
in color by Antonio Pollajuolo, and is a piece of very striking
beauty and great workmanship from an artistic standpoint, and I
should like you to see this, because it is really very fine.

No. 126 facing page 80 shows a superb bronze
placque by Dante. This is undoubtedly another masterpiece of
of SIC the collection. As you know, Dante was a pupil of Michael
