a lifetime. Knoedler has found a frame which suits the picture

admirably, and it looks incredibly beautiful. Every time I see it it becomes more wonderful, and all the critics here are unanimous as to its extraordinary and unique qualities, Even SIC in Rembrandt's work there is nothing else which touches quite this note.

I have been to Munich to study the exhibition of early Persian art and have learned a great deal. I have no opportunities of getting some of the finest Persian miniatures, I wonder whether they would interest you? If so please let me know, there are also the most wonderful examples of I3th SIC century Persian pottery from Prague, I3th century enamelled glass to be had, I speak to you of these things because they give me the most intense aesthetic pleasure, and I feel that you would have the same delight in them, but you may have decided not to go outside the region of European painting in which you have done so much.
