Roland F. Knoedler, Esq., 23 Place Vendome, Paris, France.
Dear Mr. Knoedler:-
I am just in receipt of yours of the 1st.
It looks as if the money market was going to be very stiff for some time to come. You do not give me any idea of what you may need. Even bankers require some notice of what calls may be made on them. I am always happy to do what I can for you, but I should have about fifteen days notice of the amount which you may wish.
We have closed the New York house and my wife is in Prides Crossing; Helen is in Pittsburgh, Childs, in Camden, N. J., and I am in New York. Mrs. Frick is living in the cottage, and I expect to join her there to-morrow. We hope to get into the new house in about ten days.
