Letter from W. Robert, London. ask for any remuneration for this to which you are quite welcome. Possibly also two photographs, although I doubt if any photograph will give a good idea of the Reynolds. The third picture is a superb example, the finest I think out of a public gallery and as fine as any in existence, of Laucret, a group which Messrs Thos. Agnew and Sons of London bought from the Henry Say collection of Paris, to the chagrin of the French collectors, for over $12,000. The picture was stolen from a Royal Palace in St. Petersburgh many years ago; I told the story a year or two since in The Times.
